what is the future of horror movies?

Image
I have high hopes for the future of horror movies more and more good horror films have been coming out such as Hereditary, Get out and a lonely place to die. the reason I think this is so exciting is because horror has been one of the worst film genres for years not to say there haven't been good ones but they are few and far between. Entire franchises of horror films have grown even though the scripts were clearly written by baboons. To explain my grievances and hopes fully I'm going to go back to the early 2000's Saw, the ring and the Blair witch project came out in 2002, 2004 and 1999 respectively. I'm gonna start with SAW. Saw while being a good film as a psychological horror, gore and a twist ending was one of the first films to start a bad trend Saw, Hostel, final destination and other films started the idea that if you're horror film has gore or a twist ending its a scary film this is wrong gore while it can be entertaining isn't scary its gross with lat

Thoughts on the Tobey Maguire Spiderman trilogy

The Tobey Maguire trilogy is my favourite set of Spiderman films. So lets go through them one by one obviously the first one is: Spiderman This film could've been better for me at least if there hadn't been 2 other Spiderman film series (starring Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland respectively) which i watched first as when Spiderman 3 came out i was 3 so obviously I ended up watching the Andrew Garfield's films first which are underrated. then i ended up watching the Tom Holland ones which came out with the Marvel cinematic universe. this as well as my knowledge of comics and T.V. meant that when i got round to the Tobey Maguire ones I had already gone through the origin story a dozen times which damaged the story. The next fault with the first one is the cheesiness of it which is due to 2 things it being based off of a comic and the fact that was much more prevalent in the early 2000s. the only other problem with it is personally I don't think Tobey Maguire and Kirsten

thoughts on Ghosts of Tsushima

Ghosts of Tsushima follows Jin as he goes through the most generic plot in the history of the universe. I could've fucking written the story for this. He loses his home has to save family member from evil invading forces has to band together with people like Yuna a thief in process doesn't stick to samurai code. Uncle is freed but is pissed Jin didn't stick to the samurai code but doesn't understand he did it to save his home. I will not spoil the ending as it isn't quite what I was expecting apart from the sequel baity bit. One of the reasons the main story is lacking is because the side content is meant to bring it all up by adding character depth and make the universe feel more lived in. the main side quests are ones where you meet up with a companion from the main story like Norio for example then over multiple missions you seek revenge on the one who wronged them. instead of adding depth they all end up angry flawed characters but then when you go into main mi

As an autistic person I have struggled to know how people are feeling for example which means I struggle with things like friendships. This has led to me getting a lot of social anxiety because to my brain I am somewhat socially incompetent meaning I don't really have any friends. Also as an autistic person I sort of become in a way obsessed with things when I was younger I collected thousands of different cards like Pokémon or match attacks then I started reading a book a day. halfway through year 7 I found an app called cinetrak where I could rate all the movies I had seen so I thought this could pass the time for a few minutes then I saw how many films I had not seen and wanted to endeavour to change that. during that process I started to find friendship and ways to help me identify how people are feeling in real life. mostly though because characters are for the most part straight forward in films I was ableto if only for 2-3 hours not have immense anxiety and pressures on me.
